We can’t get enough of these Beware of pickpackets ads for McDonald’s. It’s always sad to see a brand losing a bit of its mojo, as McDonald’s did during its ‘salad’ days, what with the pastel colours, comfy armchairs, bagels and other stuff.
McDonald’s is never going to be Starbucks, so it’s good to see it finally get over that and get back to selling chips. Giving lipservice to current eating trends is all very well but it’s no good pretending to be something you’re not. Maybe it’s scared of the competition coming from Gregg’s. Now there’s a brand that really knows what it is.

“You’re a fun-loving/confident man/woman. You love football/shopping! After you’ve been to the match/shops, head to McDonalds for a celebratory/healthy Big Mac/Salad.”
It made me slightly ill.

Surprisingly, the response had been pretty positive, despite the food faddy hysteria that usually reigns in the British press. Typical of the breathless coverage is this piece from the Times. As we pointed out a few days ago, McDonald’s should take note. [...]
